Monastery of the Blessed Sacrament

Project Description

Higgins Quasebarth & Partners served as historic preservation consultants to the Greyston Foundation for the rehabilitation and conversion of the Monastery of the Blessed Sacrament in Yonkers, New York.  HQ conducted extensive historical research on the Monastery which led to its listing on the National Register of Historic Places, qualifying the project to receive historic preservation tax credits.  Working with RKT&B Architects, HQ provided rehabilitation consultation, ensuring that all work was done in accordance with the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for Rehabilitation.  In March of 1998, the conversion and rehabilitation of the former religious structure was completed and today it functions as the Issan House and Maitri AIDS Adult Day Health Center.
